Greater Beneficial Union (GBU) was founded by German immigrants who settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1892. Their intention was to offer fraternalism, financial security and social activities to its members. GBU differs from commercial insurance companies. They offer many retirement savings programs, life insurance and fraternal benefits to its members. GBU supports community involvement and German cultural activities.
