This Week: Oil and Gas Workshop, Back to School and Town Hall Meeting

Patch gives you a rundown of five things going on around the community.

1. It's Back to School 

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, students in the Moon Area and Montour School Districts will return to the classroom. Click here for back to school statistics. 

2. Moon Area School Board Meeting

Moon Area School Directors will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 in the High School Board Meeting Room.  Get the agenda here

3. Oil and Natural Gas Workshop

Allegheny County Airport Authority and CONSOL Energy are sponsoring a public workshop from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road.  The purpose of the workshop is to teach residents more about oil and gas development plans at Pittsburgh International Airport and the environmental assessment process.  More information here.

4. Town Hall Meeting

Thursday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Findlay Township Activity Center, 310 Main St., Imperial.  With archery season set to begin in September, Sen. Matt Smith and State Rep. Mark Mustio are co-hosting a follow-up town hall meeting to present information and further the discussion regarding hunting on airport property.  More details here.


5. Family Fun Nights

Wrap up the end of summer with a free movie Friday, Aug. 30. Timothy Green starts at dusk in Moon Park. Read more about the event here.
