5 Things to Know This Week

Patch gives you a rundown of what's going on around the community.

1. School Entrance Closing

The Moon Area School District entrance into campus from University Boulevard will close starting Tuesday, June 18 to complete the construction work this summer. The entrance will reopen prior to school starting. During this time, motorists are asked to use the Beaver Grade Road entrance. Access to Bob Evans will continue.

2. Create a Canvas

Find your inner Picasso every Monday night when Create a Canvas hosts an eat, drink and paint class from 6 to 8 p.m. for all artistic levels. Cost is $35, which includes instruction and painting supplies.

For kids ages 7 to 13, there are Saturday morning Painting and Piza classes that cost $25, which includes lunch, drinks and all painting supplies. Sign up at www.createacanvas.eventbrite.com 

3. Robinson Planning Commission Meets

Robinson Township Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 after rescheduling the meeting earlier this month. Click here for the agenda


4. Register for 5K Run/Walk

Residents are encouraged to participate in the annual Moon Township 5K Run/Walk. Registration is now open online at moonparks.org for the 5K, which will take place at 9 a.m. June 29 starting in the Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedics Association parking lot area.  


5. Luau at Clever Park Pool

Bring your friends and family to Robinson's Clever Park Pool from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 22 for a luau by the pool. Leis, limbo and other games are planned, along with swimming.
