5 Things to Know This Week

1. Moon Area High School Graduation

Moon Area High School commencement exercises are 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 14 in the high school gymnasium.

2. School's Out

The last day of school for Moon Area students is Wednesday, June 12. Montour's last day was Friday, June 7.

3. Road Construction

PennDOT plans road work in the area from Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14, weather permitting. Shoulder improvements will take place on Beaver Grade Road in Moon from Cherrington Parkway to Montour Run. Patching will take place on Beaver Grade from McCormick Road to Montour Run, and on Hookstown Grade Road at the bridge over 376.

4. School Board Meeting

The Moon Area School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 10 in the high school board room, located in the lower-level central administration offices.

5. Summer Reading Extravaganza

At 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15 the Moon Township Public Library will host the Summer Reading Extravaganza. Radio Disney will be broadcasting live. There will be activities, crafts, face painting, games and special appearances.
