5 Things to Know This Week: Orientation, Adult Craft Night, School Board Meetings

1. Moon Area School Board

Moon Area School District will hold a Facilities Committee meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The meeting will take place in the Moon Area High School auditorium, 8353 University Boulevard in Moon. The purpose is to review recent demographic studies, enrollment projections, and the recent elementary school facilities study.  The public is invited to attend.

2. Moon, Montour Student Orientation

Montour High School will hold freshmen and new student orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 14 in the high school auditorium. There will be two orientation sessions: Click here to learn more

3. Adult Craft Night: Back to School Surprise

Help your little ones get over their first day jitters and transition back to school by crafting a little book bag full of goodies at Moon Public Library to celebrate the start of the school year. On Thursday, Aug. 15, each participant may make up to three bags. Registration is mandatory. Call the library at 412-269-0334 or visit the website to register.

4. Montour Meeting Rescheduled

The Montour School Board agenda planning/special meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 8 was canceled and rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15 in Room 361 Administrative Offices, 225 Clever Road.

5. Family Fun Night: 'Hotel Transylvania'

Movies as part of Family Fun Nights start at dusk every Friday throughout the month in Moon Park. The film on Friday, Aug. 16 is "Hotel Transylvania."
