As the Director of Moon Township Public Library, I hear many requests from patrons for many things, but something I have been asked for a lot lately is more e-books. So, the library is going to do just that. Starting later this month, Moon Township Public Library will be adding a new e-book platform called Axis 360. You will be able to check out e-books and just them on just about any electronic device. This collection will be available to only Moon Township residents and is small to start with (about 90 books), but will be added to each month beginning in January 2013. This new system will supplement the platform Overdrive that we currently share with all of the libraries in Allegheny County. Therefore, our new system will just add more titles and will not be taking away what you have already come to enjoy.
I believe that e-books are an important part of the library system and will do my best to include them in our collection and give you free access to as much as our budget can allow. This new service will start very soon so keep a lookout on our website—www.moonlibrary.org. The library staff is currently being trained on how to use it and becoming familiar with the new look. We will be ready for your questions and can’t wait to start this new service!
