Video: Lemonade Kids

It costs a bit more when they set up to sell it today, but nothing tastes quite as good as lemonade on a hot summer day.

Sure, it used to cost a nickel when you sold it by the curb.

But you can’t complain about the 50 cents or so kids are charging at their lemonade stands these days.

The way this summer has been going, young entrepreneurs would be wise to mix up a couple of pitchers and set up shop. Thirsty drivers – or pedestrians, if anyone is braving the heat on foot – won’t be able to resist.

A group of Corteland Drive residents had success recently raising money for a good cause: raising money to support people with phenylketonuria, or PKU. Customers seemed to consider the 50 cents a bargain, plus they didn’t hesitate to contribute extra when they learned where the money was going.

Support your local lemonade stand!

True story, when I was a kid growing up in USC, I set up a lemonade stand with my brother. A USC police officer came by and asked if we had a permit for the stand (we were around 10). Obviously we didn't and were told we had to take the stand down.
