Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Moon

The warning is in effect until 7 p.m.

  in Moon has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio and parts of northern West Virginia until 7 p.m. tonight.

The main threats with the thunderstorms will be large hail and damaging winds, according to forecasters.

A severe thunderstorm warning also has been issued for east central Butler County, northern Armstrong County and southwestern Clarion County until 12:45 p.m.

Doppler radar has indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located about 10 miles south of Chicora and moving northeast at 30 mph.

Residents in these areas are advised to seek shelter inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
