“Tickets are available at the door for only $5 and the kid will love it,” said Adrianne Arena-Jacobs, play director and owner of the Brodhead Road performing arts center.

The play is an original production and was written specifically for the children who auditioned for the show, said Arena-Jacobs.

“After we knew which children were going to be in the production, we took a play and fashioned it to their talents,” she said.

Arena-Jacobs has several instructors who help her with the production including her co-director, Logan Williams; writers Krista Kaley and Williams; and vocal coach Jade Lundgren.

The show will begin with a comedic pre-show featuring “Thing 1,” “Thing 2” and “Thing Thwee,” said Arena-Jones.

Loosely based on Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat, the play involves children and a naughty cat.

“Every mom will relate to the mischief the children get into in the show,” she said.

The summer production is one of three major events Arena's features through the year. There are 12 children in this musical.

Tickets are available at the door for $5 at the Massey Theater located on the Robert Morris University campus.
