Moon Hockey Beats North Hills in Local Winter Classic

The charity event benefited diabetes research.

The Moon Hockey Association defeated North Hills, 5-2, Friday in the team’s only outdoor game of the season.

The game was the fifth in the annual PIHL Hockey Outdoor Charity Series. All proceeds from the game benefited the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Team manager Leah Cillo told Patch that last week’s game, which took place at North Park, was the Tigers' first appearance in the local winter classic. The team readied for the game by skating on the Penguins Pond at Southside Works.
