Montour Alum Krug Dives at Olympics Aug. 3

Tune into NBC to see the local diver compete in the 2012 London Olympics.

Montour alumna will compete Aug. 3 in the women's 3-meter springboard competition at the 2012 London Olympic games.

The competition airs at 9:30 a.m. Friday on NBC. During the qualifiers, 30 divers will perform five dives each at the Acquatics Center in London. The top 18 divers will advance to the semifinals, held Aug. 4. Medals will be awarded during the finals competition held Aug. 5. 

26-year-old Cassidy Krug, a Coraopolis native and 2003 grad, will be one of two members of the American team to compete in the competition.

Krug, an 11-time national champion and Stanford University grad, is the daughter of Pittsburgh-area diving coaches and Julian Krug. Krug now resides in Stanford, CA.
