The Moon Area Lacrosse Association (MALAX) is excited to inform our members and the local communities of the opportunity to participate in our 1st “Fall Ball” Lacrosse Sessions. Whether you child is in 1st grade or 12th grade; lives in Moon Township or a surrounding community; is curious about the game or an established player – MALAX has an affordable session for your child.
All sessions will take place at Moon Park on Discovery Field and will run for six weeks, from September 15th thru October 26th. The sessions will be under the direction of our association’s boys and girls Varsity, JV, and Middle School Coaches and a number of talented players from the Robert Morris University’s Men’s and Women’s lacrosse programs. The chart below provides basic information regarding the dates, times and costs for each session.

Boys 1st & 2nd Grade Saturdays - 9/15, 22, 29, 10/6, 13, 20 – 2:00 to 3:30 $30

Boys 9th to 12th Grade Tuesdays – 9/18, 10/9 - 3:30 to 5:15 $45

Girls Sessions Days, Dates and Times Cost
* Girls 1st to 8th Grade Mondays – 9/17, 24, 10/1, 8, 15, 22 - 5:00 to 6:30 $30
* Special Note: Even though all girls in grades 1st thru 8th will be practicing at the same time, they will be divided into smaller age / grade appropriate groupings based on the combination of their lacrosse skills and experience.
Girls 9th to 12th Grade Mondays - 9/17, 24, 10/1, 8, 15, 22 - 5:00 to 7:00 $60
Wednesdays – 9/19, 26, 10/3, 10, 17, 24 - 4:00 to 5:30
Equipment Requirements
Girls must have a lacrosse stick, goggles and a mouth guard. Boys in 1st and 2nd grade must have a stick, gloves and a mouth guard. Boys in 3rd thru 12th grade must have a lacrosse stick, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, helmet and a mouth guard (if you are buying a helmet, please get it in BLACK). Lax equipment can be purchased at the following stores: Dicks Sporting Goods, Pittsburgh Lacrosse or Com Lax.
Fall Ball Registration
All registration can be done on-line at the MALAX website (http://www.moonarealax.uslaxteams.com/) or you can click HERE. Please note that you will need to become a US Lacrosse member to participate in the Fall Ball session. This is required for insurance purposes. You can do this when you register OR you can click HERE and do it now. The last day to register is Friday September 14th. After that date, a Late Fee will be added.
