Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania

Police & trucking companies partnered to raise awareness & funds for Special Olympics PA. The 2012 Steel City Truck Convoy involved over 60 trucks and traveled nearly 20 miles around Pittsburgh.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, Special Olympics PA celebrated the trucking community and their support for Special Olympics through the World’s Largest Truck Convoy!

The Steel City Truck Convoy rolled through the streets and around the City of Pittsburgh, escorted by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. More than 60 semi-trucks and Public Safety specialty vehicles made an almost 20-mile loop from Heinz Field and back, making its way through many of the city’s neighborhoods including North Side, Strip District, Bloomfield, Oakland and the South Side.

The event raised approximately $10,000 for more than 20,000 Special Olympics athletes across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
