Montour varsity cheerleaders place in WPIAL competition
The Montour High School varsity cheerleaders earned fifth place in the AAA/AAAA division of the WPIAL's first cheerleading competition. The team will compete Feb. 2 in Hershey during the state's first PIAA cheerleading competition.

Moon student earns Eagle Scout rank
Michael Kotok, a junior at Moon Area Middle School, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest honor in Boy Scouting. For his service project, Kotok made repairs to Bakers Baseball field on Spring Run Road Extension.

Moon middle school students learn about environment, theater
Moon Area middle schoolers performed a play about air pollutants and their impact on the environment earlier this month. More than 70 sixth-graders took part in the activity, which was a part of their science curriculum
OLSH National Honor Society donates to Make a Wish Foundation
Members of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School's chapter of the National Honor Society contributed a donation to the nonprofit Make-A-Wish Foundation. The group participated in a number of fundraisers for the project.
