Superintendent's New Contract Not Yet Available

The contract was approved Monday by the Moon Area School Board.

A spokeswoman said terms of Superintendent Donna Milanovich's contract with the district have not changed from her previous employment agreement with the district.

The school district does not yet have a copy of the contract in its possession, said communications officer Megan Edwards. The school board Monday night voted 9 to 3 to renew Milanovich's contract with the district. Milanovich has been employed with Moon Area since 2007.

The board did not specify during its monthly meeting whose contract was being renewed in the vote, approving the contract as a personnel item. The vote drew some criticism from members of the public in attendance for the vote.

School board member-elect Gia Tatone said newly elected board members plan to publish the contract online after beginning their terms in January.

"We can't really comment on it because we haven't seen the contract," Tatone said. "We are not pleased with the process of this being done at the midnight hour."

"Our goal would be to have the contract accessible online," she said.
