Robert Morris Shocks Kentucky in NIT
The Colonials win, 59-57, in the opening match up against the defending national champions.
Robert Morris University ruined Moon native and Kentucky coach John Calipari's homecoming Tuesday night by shocking the defending national champions 59-57 in the opening round of the NIT, according to AOL Sports.
AOL reports that the Colonial's Mike McFadden hit two free throws with 8.7 seconds remaining and that Kentucky decided not to call a timeout after the second free throw.
A Wildcats 3-pointer before the buzzer bounced off the rim, sending hundreds of Robert Morris students in the 3,056-seat arena pouring onto the court.

AOL reports that Kentucky trailed by 13 in the second half and managed to tie twice, but the reigning NCAA champions could never grab the lead.
Calipari, who grew up in Moon in a house less than a mile from the campus, expressed disappointment that Kentucky's season is over.

“This was my community, and it was great to be back,” Calipari told the Beaver County Times. “I was disappointed in my team. I’m proud we fought and gave ourselves a chance to win, because we could have let go of the rope.”
