RMU Graduates Class of 2013 on Friday and Saturday in Moon Township

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and DDI President Bob Rogers will be the keynote speakers at Robert Morris University’s 88th commencement ceremonies in the Sewall Center Arena at RMU’s Moon Township campus

Fitzgerald will speak to approximately 220 students, who will receive master’s and doctoral degrees, at 4 p.m. Friday, May 10.

On Saturday, May 11, approximately 500 students will receive bachelor’s degrees at RMU’s undergraduate commencement ceremony starting at 9:30 a.m. Rogers will be the keynote speaker and also will receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Robert Morris.

Rogers has overseen the day-to-day operations of Development Dimensions International, a global talent management company, since 1990. During that time the Bridgeville-based company has grown from a $40 million U.S. company to a $150 million organization that operates in 26 countries with 1,200 employees. He is the lead author of Organizational Change That Works: How to Merge Culture and Business Strategies for Maximum Results and has written numerous articles, book chapters, and monographs. Rogers is an emeritus member of the RMU Board of Trustees.

Also speaking at the undergraduate ceremony will be Kiersten Metzger, president of the Class of 2013, who is earning a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.

Among those also receiving their degrees at the undergraduate ceremony will be Vincent Dell’Omo, the son of RMU President Gregory G. Dell’Omo. This marks the second year in a row that President Dell’Omo will be handing the sheepskin to a member of his family. Last year, his wife, Polly, earned her master’s degree in instructional leadership. Vincent Dell’Omo will have earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
