Report: Moon Area School Board Severs Ties With Moon Transportation Authority

Transportation officials say the move may end in a lawsuit.

The Moon Area School Board on Monday ended its longtime relationship with the Moon Transportation Authority, according to the Tribune Review.

The board voted to sever ties because federal and state contributions have decreased, teacher pension contributions have increased and the airport terminal has moved, according to the newspaper.

The relationship was formed in 1986 to make transportation improvements along Business Route 376.

Authority officials reportedly say the move will put projects in jeopardy and could result in a lawsuit.
