Moon Area School District Announces Middle School Open House

The open house event at the new Moon Area Middle School will span two days.

The Moon Area Middle School will open its doors to the public during a two-night open house in October.

The Moon Area Middle School's lower house, which includes grades five and six, will hold an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 3. The Moon Area Middle School's upper house, including grades seven and eight, will open its doors from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 4.

The district is hosting back-to-back open houses to accomodate the large volume of families anticipated at this year's event, according to a statement from district spokeswoman Megan Edwards.

The open house will mark the first public showing of the district's overhauled middle school.

The district completed the revamped building in August, just before the opening of the 2012-2013 school year. The facility, built in 1964, formerly served as the district's high school, undergoing an extensive, $45 million renovation.
