Montour Approves Purchase of GPS Systems, OKs Job of Part-Time Pyschologist

Students honored board members in recognition of School Board Appreciation Month.

The Montour School Board Thursday recognized members of its varsity football team for its November WPIAL championship at Heinz Field while students attending the meeting honored school board members for January's School Board Appreciation Month. 

Items from the meeting: 

  • The board voted, 9-0, to approve a contract for services with the Allegheny County Intermediate Unit for a school psychologist serving two days per week, from February to June, at a cost of $17,416.92. 
  • The board voted, 9-0, to purchase GPS systems for all faculty department vehicles at a cost of $3,690.
  • The board approved, 9-0, to continue the ongoing collaboration between Montour elementary life skills students and the Cornell School District. 
  • The board approved, 9-0, the scanning of building drawings for the Ingram, Burkett, Forest Grove and David E. Williams elementary schools by the Pittsburgh-based firm Architectural Innovations at a cost of $2,200.
  • The board approved, 9-0, the creation of the David E. Williams Middle School Musical Theater Club. 
  • The board approved, 9-0, the purchase of supplies for emergency go-kits for the district at a cost of $600. 
  • The board approved, 9-0, that the Montour School District administrative office address changes from 223 to 225 Clever Road, McKees Rocks.
