Living History: Holocaust Survivor Speaks with Allard Students

A survivor of the Holocaust shares life lessons with elementary students.

Pittsburgh-area Holocaust survivor Shalmut Bastacky on Tuesday spoke with fifth-graders at according to the Moon Area School District. 

Bastacky spoke to students as a part of the school's "number the stars" curriculum, where she shared stories and life lessons with the children. 

"She spoke aobut what it was like being born during such a tragic time and made clear the importance of forgiveness and cherishing life," said district spokeswoman Megan Edwards in a statement. "Students were given the chance to ask questiosn and participate in a discussion with her."
