June Opening Expected for Moon Goddard School

Several months before its opening, the school is offering a scholarship for its young alums.

A Moon Township branch of the Goddard School for Early Learning is expected to open in June.

The school, which will provide pre-school education for children aged six weeks to five years old, will enroll 160 students, according to a representative from the school.

Crews are finishing work on the school's 8,500 square-foot facility, located at the cul-de-sac on Commerce Drive.

The Moon Township franchise will be owned by Carol Maier. Developers, who initially said the facility would be completed by the beginning of 2013, received township approval for the new construction in May of 2012.

When completed, the Moon Goddard school will mark the fourth Pittsburgh-area location for the early learning franchise. Other schools are located in Peters, Wexford and Cranberry.
