1. Moon Area School Board meets tonight. 

The will meet at 7 p.m. today for a business meeting. This will be the first board meeting held in the district's new high school facility. Can't make the meeting? Check back on Patch for coverage bright and early tomorrow morning.

2. Preliminary hearing, arraignment set for suspects in carjacking, police-car shooting incidents.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for , the 27-year-old McKees Rocks man charged in connection with last month's Brodhead Road carjacking and string of assaults. 

The hearing will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Coraopolis District Court. Manna is charged with two counts each of receiving stolen property, aggravated assault and reckless driving, three counts of reckless endangerment and one count each of robbery and criminal mischief. Those charges stem from a January incident in which two people were assaulted and a blue 2005 BMW Mini Cooper was taken from a residential area. 

Following the attacks, police found Manna in Morgantown, WV, where he was jailed before being extradited to Pennsylvania. 

Also Tuesday, Ryan McCleary, 20, will have a formal arraignment in Common Pleas Court in Pittsburgh. The Evans City man is awaiting trial on that he fired a BB gun at a car and an ambulance from Valley Ambulance Authority in November.

He is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, one count of criminal mischief, three counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of propulsion of missiles, and one count of underage drinking.

3. Moon Area School District to hold high school open house. 

Want to scope out the new, The district will hold a public open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. A dedication ceremony will be held at 1o a.m.

4. Crescent Township Board of Commissioners to meet.

Board of Commissioners will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the township building on Spring Run Road.

5. Free babysitting at the library for your Valentine's date night. 

And, of course, today is Valentine's Day. Want to mark the occasion by heading out to a with your partner? Can't find a babysitter? Well, the has you covered. 

The library will be offering free babysitting from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight for children ages 2 and older. Each of the sitters is certified by the American Red Cross in babysitting. If your little one likes them, you can get their contact information for future service.
