Schools

Discover Natural Gas

Robert Morris University (RMU) is one of a select group of schools throughout the United States invited to participate this spring term in the America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) Collegiate Energy Challenge.

ANGA exists to promote the economic, environmental and national security benefits of greater use of clean, abundant, domestic natural gas.  Students in the University’s Advertising and Communications Strategy class have created an in-class working marketing agency, Colonial Communications Consultants, responsible for researching, implementing and evaluating an integrated marketing campaign aimed at educating and informing their local campus and community on the benefits of natural gas as an energy source.

Colonial Communications Consultants created a campaign consisting of three on campus events; a pledge signing, a day-long informative extravaganza, and an 'AlmostMidnight Breakfast.' At the pledge signing, students were able to learn about the campaign and agree to become more aware of this valuable energy source.  A few weeks later, the Colonial Communications Consultants hosted Discover Natural Gas: A Day of Fuelin’ Around to further awareness to the student body and local community of Moon township.  On Tuesday April 24th,   the Communications students will be present at the 'Almost Midnight Breakfast,' held every semester during finals week. There, students will again have the opportunity to sign the Natural Gas Pledge while taking a break from their rigorous final examination studies to enjoy a hot breakfast and learn more about this influential energy source.
