Nursing and allied health programs are offered at CCAC campuses, including Boyce in Monroeville.

In the annual rankings, CCAC is first among two-year institutions awarding associate degrees in the category of registered nursing, nursing administration, nursing research and clinical nursing. CCAC presented degrees to 412 nursing graduates in the 2009–2010 academic year, the period included in the report.

“CCAC is proud to lead the nation’s community colleges in providing qualified nurses and health professionals to this critical sector of our workforce," said CCAC President Alex Johnson. "We are also proud that 95 percent of our career program graduates remain in our region to contribute to our community.”

In the current rankings, nursing has been split into two categories. The college ranked second among two-year institutions in the combined category last year. It remains the only Pennsylvania institution in the top 10.

Community College Week also ranks CCAC second among two-year institutions in the number of degrees awarded in the Health Professions and Related Programs, the same position as last year. In 2009–2010, the college awarded 633 degrees in the category. Again, the college is the only Pennsylvania institution in the top 10.

The college also is ranked in the top 50 institutions nationally in the two categories of business, management, marketing and related support services, as well as family and consumer sciences/human services.

Overall, CCAC is 69th in the number of associate degrees awarded by all institutions in 2009–2010, with 1,683 graduates. CCAC annually enrolls about 33,000 credit students who choose among certificates and associate degrees in 170 programs.
