Bon Meade Elementary Teacher In Top Five in Children's Book Contest

First grade teacher Julie Rudin recognized for picture book manuscript.

A first grade teacher from Bon Meade Elementary School can honestly say to her daughter that the book she wrote for her is an award-winning story. Julie Rudi recently placed in the top five in the Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) First Annual National Children’s Book of the Year Contest in the picture book category. There was also a chapter book category.

In a press release from the Moon Area School District, Rudi said, “I’m honored to make the top five and am looking forward to entering the contest again.”

Rudi wrote the book, "Lots-O-Love" for her daughter Sophia. In the picture book category, 1,014 manuscripts were submitted. A panel of editors reviewed and judged the books on content, originality and age appropriateness. The top two winners will be published by Charlesbridge Publishing.
