Crack and joint sealing operations are scheduled to begin soon on Thorn Run Road (Route 3087) in Moon Township, weather permitting.
Work will occur on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 16-17 from Fourth Avenue to Thorn Run Road Extension, according to PennDOT.
Slow moving, short-term lane closures will occur in various locations on Thorn Run Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Crack and joint sealing is a preservation activity that prolongs the life of road surfaces by preventing moisture from entering cracks and joints. Moisture can cause potholes and premature deterioration requiring more costly repairs.
PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.
