Several TSA Employees Fired, Suspended Over Gambling at Pittsburgh International Airport

More than 60 employees are facing disciplinary action following an investigation into alleged gambling.

A number of Transportation Security Administration employees at Pittsburgh International Airport are facing disciplinary action following an investigation into some alleged gambling.

According to the Pittsburgh Business Times, five TSA employees could be fired and another 47 suspended following a months-long probe by the TSA's Office of Professional Responsibility centered around employees' participation in March Madness and National Football League pools.

The investigation that concluded Thursday recommended that five TSA employees be fired, 47 others suspended and letters of reprimand given to 10 others, the Business Times reports.

KDKA reports the U.S. Attorney’s Office turned down the case for criminal prosecution.

The TSA has released the following a statement, saying: "TSA holds all of its employees to the highest standards of conduct and accountability. The agency has taken the appropriate and necessary steps to discipline those involved to include employment terminations, suspensions or letters of reprimand."
