Route 51 Improvements Begin Monday in Coraopolis and Robinson Township

The project is part of a $2.5 million contract for roadway improvements in Allegheny County.

More roadwork is headed this way on Monday, Aug. 19.

That's when PennDOT plans to begin work to improve Route 51 in Robinson and Coraopolis, weather permitting.

Work on Route 51 (State Avenue/Coraopolis Road) will include milling and resurfacing the roadway, base repairs, drainage upgrades, pavement markings and other minor improvements.

Traffic will be reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday between Vine Street and Forest Grove Road through early to late September.

The project is part of a $2.5 million contract with The Lane Construction Co. of Pittsburgh that involves improvements on several roads in Allegheny County.

Same company that did the same work on 4th ave (which is now going to be dug up by Columbia Gas). After the initial milling is done expect nothing for weeks. But you won't be able to park in front of your house because of the numerous "no parking signs" put up while this is being done.

Wonderful. As if the evening traffic on State Avenue isn't already bad enough.

Are you sure its Route 51 "State Ave"? Because Route 51 is "5th Ave"

State Ave at Vine St or George St is Route 51 to around the 79 interchanges where it turns into Coraopolis Road (also Rte 51)
