Route 51 Improvements Begin Monday in Coraopolis and Robinson Township

The project is part of a $2.5 million contract for roadway improvements in Allegheny County.

More roadwork is headed this way on Monday, Aug. 19.

That's when PennDOT plans to begin work to improve Route 51 in Robinson and Coraopolis, weather permitting.

Work on Route 51 (State Avenue/Coraopolis Road) will include milling and resurfacing the roadway, base repairs, drainage upgrades, pavement markings and other minor improvements.

Traffic will be reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday between Vine Street and Forest Grove Road through early to late September.

The project is part of a $2.5 million contract with The Lane Construction Co. of Pittsburgh that involves improvements on several roads in Allegheny County.
