UPDATE: Mitt Romney Lands in Moon Township in Final Hours of Election Day

The Republican presidential candidate makes a final campaign stop in Moon before heading back to Boston to await results.

In one of his final appearances of the presidential campaign, Republican nominee Mitt Romney landed this afternoon in Moon Township, exiting a plane at the Atlantic Aviation hangar before leaving in a motorcade.

The stop was brief—Romney did not speak before stepping into an SUV motorcade of five vehicles. After walking out of his plane, he waved to a crowd of cheering supporters packed outside of the runway gate.

Romney campaign spokesman Bradley White said the GOP candidate would be traveling in the region this afternoon, but he said the schedule was kept private.

Romney's stay in the Pittsburgh area lasted just more than an hour—his plane left Pittsburgh International Airport just after 4 p.m. Romney stopped briefly at a Green Tree campaign office after touching down in Pittsburgh, according to reports.

He is expected to be in Boston after polls across the country close this evening.

The former Massachusetts governor cast his ballot in Belmont, MA this morning. He spent the final hours of the campaign making a series of last-minute appearances, including one earlier today in Cleveland to reach out to Ohio's swing voters.

Onlookers gathered atop a parking garage on Horizon Drive to watch Romney's brief appearance. The event was not open to the public.

His running mate Paul Ryan also appeared in Moon in October, addressing a crowd inside the Atlantic Aviation hangar during a 15-minute speech. Romney campaign spokesman Billy Pitman said the Ryan rally marked a renewed effort to reach out to blue collar Democrats in the state.

Pennsylvania polls close today at 8 p.m.

The only reason you need to show an ID is if it is your first time voting. No one should be turned away because of no ID. I would have gone further up to complain.
NE12Ukid November 7, 2012 at 12:17 am
Yeah, wonder how many votes Romney stole before that guy noticed the machine was malfunctioning.
Jessica Sinichak (Editor) November 7, 2012 at 12:55 am
Kathleen, did this happen to you? Which polling location?
Mo November 7, 2012 at 01:02 am
That's hilarious, you can plainly see the edits. Just another fraud by a self-serving liberal fooling like-minded liberals who want this to be true sooo badly.
Go Mitt - Bring it home brother we're counting on you!
Kathleen Schawalder November 7, 2012 at 01:28 am
Happened to my husband...Cranberry Township. He had his id...they still would not let him vote because he was not on their list..
HappyGram November 7, 2012 at 01:31 am
Jump a barricade...seriously! Are you kidding me. You people were not supposed to be there anyway. He was flying in and out in a matter of hours for crying out loud. Someone leaked it to the internet and you all show up & expect him to get down on his knees & thank you. Did you work for him or make calls for him? His purpose here was to thank those that did....& that's what he did. He could have taken the day off & rested or played basketball...give me a break...!!!!
Jessica Sinichak (Editor) November 7, 2012 at 01:34 am
Do you know which specific polling location? Thanks!

i don't usually wish people bad, but the republicans cheating at the polls in pa deserve to be fixed, as in cut off their nads if they actually have any.
Scott Carlson November 7, 2012 at 02:24 am
Robert, learn how to spell helmet. You should worry about getting a good education and not people's nads and cheating. Really? People like you shouldn't be allowed to vote

Voting machine glitches are a reality regardless of this video or what evil liberals or conservatives have to say about it. It is a touchscreen. Touchscreens are nonpartisan.
Where are the plain edits? I am no video expert, so I would just honestly like to know. I don't doubt a possibility, but I don't see anything screaming out at me that it is an edit. Regardless, there have been quite a few articles up already of people reporting glitchy machines, incorrect ballots, etc...

@Mo
This was actually broadcast on the news, I just went directly to the youtube video just because it was expedient. I don't see anything that leads me to believe that there were any edits. But you know what? Who f'n cares now?

Cheaters never win!
cc November 7, 2012 at 10:38 am
So true Concerned. Thank goodness the House is still under the Republicans and now we need to get more Republicans in the Senate.
cc November 7, 2012 at 10:41 am
Watts your an idiot, stupid people playing games, to get a rise out of others. It was not reported at the polling place as they would of shut down the machine for the glitch. Moron Dumocrats love to play games.
cc November 7, 2012 at 10:46 am
Watts what state and location was this made at and lets see if they actually used a ballot like this to vote.
cc November 7, 2012 at 10:50 am
There was one turned away at Baldwin High School when I went to vote, as this was her first time voting and she didn't bring any type of ID with her. The lady said she didn't know first time voters needed Photo ID and was going home to get her license and will be back.
Funny that there isn't anything on the news about people being turned away in Butler as they would of been given a provisional ballot to vote.
cc November 7, 2012 at 10:53 am
If you haven't voted in so many years they are suppose to remove your name from the list. There was a web site out before Elections that you could of checked and seen if your name was on it and then if it wasn't could of registered again before the deadline. According to a friend that worked the polls, they did a good job this time of removing people that were dead and have not voted in years.
Robert F Bearfield November 7, 2012 at 02:03 pm
YO MO, LOOKS LIKE YOU ALONG WITH ROMNEY ARE BOTH LOSERS AND WRONG.
HappyGram November 7, 2012 at 10:51 pm
If the Republicans were cheating at the polls....you goof...why would they change Romney votes to Obama?...duh!!!
All you Obama people.....hahahahaha....drink your kool-aid this is the beginning of the end...you are so clueless.
Watts November 7, 2012 at 11:59 pm

It makes me sad to see and hear all the back and forth with all the name calling and insultimg. This is the United States of America, where we all have the right to have our own thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. No one way is right or wrong, it up to the individual and the situation. Yes Obama won and Romney list. What's really matters is that we the people work together. If you have concerns contact your local, regional, and national representativea but do so in a well spoken, compassionate way that offers ideas for progression and compromise. Name calling and insulting willingly hurt all parties involved and will make others think twice about working with you towards the goal because you appear/ are close minded. Remember "Treat others the way you want to be treated." I hope that everyone has a great day and that we can all be a part of the a solution and not the problem.

Please forgive a couple of the word mistakes, my phone has a mind of its own. Then I did not catch them before I hit submit. Just goes to show that no human nor machine are perfect! :-)

Mo
I've said it before, Romney is going to win by a landslide. This will happen. And you can say it again if you wish, but it did not happen. Hope you have a good day anyway. Congrats to PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA on the win!
tes November 8, 2012 at 06:02 pm
Hey Mo:
You were wrooooooooooooooooooooong. Can you say "NO MO"
Re Re November 8, 2012 at 08:11 pm
Man CC, your are completely in denial. Im a Republican that had no choice but to vote for Obama. Romney told so many lies I couldn't keep up anymore. How do you go to Ohio & tell Ohioans that their jobs are going to ? At least tell that lie in Florida where they may not fact check you or simply just know the truth. Those people knew they wasn't losing their jobs. He just did stupid stuff. How do you get caught on tape saying stuff about 47% of Americans? People not stupid you meant black people.

I'm having trouble deciphering/accessing complete posts above. I have not been able to follow theRead More Boards meetings since relocating a year ago to TN. The fact that it took them til 3 am to ok WalMart's plans for the space, makes me think it was contentious, as it should have been. Many of us with experience of WalMart and the existing problems with traffic in the area remain appalled to hear WalMart's moving ahead.
