Robinson-Moon Area 2013 Primary Election Results

The results of the primary election are in and there are a few local upsets in the race municipal, school board and county council seats on the Democratic and Republican tickets.
Incumbent Matt Drozd lost the race for the Republican nomination to the District 1 County Council seat to challenger Thomas J. Baker, who captured 53 percent of the Republican vote to Drozd's 47 percent.
Montour School Board President Ronald William Smith lost on both the Republican and Democratic tickets to challenger Darryl Young for the Region 1 seat, virtually assuring Young the seat in the fall general election. Both candidates had crossfiled.

In Robinson Township, Republicans Patrick J. O'Leary, Michael J. Malinsky and Joel B. Slessinger will face off against Democrats Ronald John Shiwarski, James Barefoot and Ken Kisow in the general election for three open seats on the board of commissioners.
In Crescent Township, Peggi Schofield defeated incumbent Diane Cvengros for the Republican nomination for the Ward 2 seat on the board of commissioners. Only 11 votes separated the winner from the loser.
