Pennsylvania's Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley has decided that there will not be a special election to fill the state's 37th Senatorial District seat, which was left vacant by the  of Republican John Pippy.

Consistent with state law governing special elections, Cawley decided that such an election would not be in the best interest of the public given that the regularly scheduled election for the full four-year term of Pippy's old seat will take place on Nov. 6.

I hope Robert is being sarcastic. Mr. Raja will serve our area well even if he was not my first choice in the primary. A self made man from India, is preferable to the professional politicans we are usually faced with choosing in our elections. Jenna please clarify will Matt Smith be on the ballot or is he forced to run a write in campaign this fall? Winning any seat via a write in campaign is a long shot and it would be doubtful that Mr. Smith could even be competitive in the fall
