Pippy Endorses Mustio for State Senate

Pennsylvania Sen. John Pippy earlier this year said he will retire from the state Senate.

Pennsylvania , R-37th district, has endorsed state , R-Moon, to replace him in the Pennsylvania Senate.

Pippy announced in January that he will from the Pennsylvania legislature. Mustio is running for Pippy's seat in the 37th senatorial district and for re-election in the state house. 

“I ask you to join me in supporting my friend Mark Mustio for the state Senate,” said Pippy.  “As a member of the state house, Mark has been a terrific partner, and together we were able to achieve positive results for the people of the Pittsburgh region. Mark has the integrity and know-how to get the job done and is worthy of your vote on April 24.”

Pippy, a Moon Township resident, was first elected to the state Senate in a 2003 special election. 

D. Raja, a Mt. Lebanon business owner who in November his bid to become Allegheny County Chief Executive, and Bethel Park resident are also vying for the Republican nomination for Pippy's seat. No Democratic candidate has been announced.

Democrat Mark Scappe, former president, is campaigning for Mustio's state house seat in the 44th district. 

"There is no one I respect more than John Pippy," Mustio said. "We are excited to continue to build momentum and take our message of lower taxes, less government and bringing good paying and family-sustaining jobs back to the region."
