News Nearby: Route 65 Improvement Work Begins on Monday

Traffic through Emsworth will be reduced to a single lane in each direction around-the-clock beginning at 6 a.m for approximately two weeks through mid to late July.

Traffic on Route 65 will be reduced to one lane starting at Monday, July 9 when improvement work begins in Allegheny and Beaver counties, according to PennDOT.

The $5.1 million project aims to improve Route 65, also known as Ohio River Boulevard, in various locations. 

The overall 4.5 mile project includes milling and resurfacing, drainage, guide rail, curbing, signs, signals, structure repairs and other improvements in Emsworth, , , and Ambridge boroughs.

Initial work will occur in Emsworth between Camp Horne Road and Terrace Drive. Crews will improve drainage, patch, mill and resurface and install ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ramps.

The prime contractor is Lindy Paving of New Castle. Overall work will conclude in spring 2013.

To allow the work to occur, traffic on Route 65 through Emsworth Borough will be reduced to a single lane in each direction around-the-clock beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday for approximately two weeks through mid to late July.

Sewickley Road Work

Beaver Road is slated to be shut down in Sewickley from Blackburn Road to Straight Street for milling and paving starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The work is part of the .
