New Crescent Commissioner Appointed to Oversee Public Works

The Crescent Township Board of Commissioners met for its monthly meeting Tuesday night.

  • The Crescent Township Board of Commissioners tabled a motion last night to approve the purchase of a new township sign from Keystone Signs and Graphics for the amount of $3,589, citing budget concerns following a recent landslide on
  • Crescent Solicitor Richard Start reported that the township has entered into legal mediation with Crescent Police Chief Todd K. Miller regarding a pension dispute. Miller has been on leave from the department for two years after injuring his knee while on duty. 
  • The board approved the purchase of an automated external defibrillator kit, which will be mounted on a wall in the township's Municipal Building, at a cost of $1,896.04. Township staff members have also recently undergone CPR training. 
  • The board appointed new Commissioner Joe Sabol as co-commissioner for the township's public works department alongside Commissioner Diane Cvengros. Sabol was added to the board in May to fill a vacancy left after the death of former Commissioner James Withee. Sabol also resigned from his position on the township's Zoning Hearing Board at the meeting, citing his new position on the Board of Commissioners.
