Moon VFC Plans Open House for Sunday

Climb aboard a fire truck and talk to firefighters and police when the Moon Volunteer Fire Company opens its door to the public this weekend.

The Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company will open its big doors to the public this weekend to kick off  National Fire Prevention Week.  Bring the family to the firehouse from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and see what it's like to be a firefighter.  It's all free.

There will be hands-on demonstrations of fire extinguishers and the fire hose, as well as other live fire equipment demonstrations. Moon Township Police, Valley Ambulance, and STAT MedEvac will be on hand to answer your questions and display their specialty vehicles.

You can talk to firefighters as you walk through the station, check out all of the fire apparatus, and climb aboard a fire truck.

Everything takes place at the Moon Township Public Safety building, 1000 Beaver Grade Road.  The rain date is Oct. 21.
