Moon Supervisors Reappoint Eicher President

Officials from Robinson and Moon make new appointments for 2013.

The Moon Township Board of Supervisors re-appointed Marv Eicher as its president for 2013.

Eicher, a nine-year member of the board, also served as president in 2012. He works as project manager at N.A. Water Systems. Supervisor John Hertzer, who was elected to the board in 2011, was named vice president, said township manager Jeanne Creese.

Board members, who held a reorganization meeting Monday, also approved the re-appointment of Pittsburgh-based Babst, Calland, Clements & Zomnire as the township's solicitor and the Michael Baker Corp. as its engineering firm.

Eicher said he looks to see the board take up township facility and intersection improvements in 2013.

"I suspect we'll be taking up a number of facility improvements in 2013, and making some improvements to the municipal building," Eicher said. "We're also going to be looking at making some further improvements at the (Moon) park."

Robinson's Board of Commissioners on Monday moved to hire attorney John L. Butya, of Robinson, as interim solicitor while the township advertises for permanent representation. Commissioners terminated the township's use of soliciting firm Goldberg, Kamin & Garvin, of Pittsburgh.

As a first-class township, Robinson reappoints new municipal leadership on a biannual basis.
