Moon Fire Marshal Briefs Supervisors on Plans for 9/11 Memorial
Memorial garden also will feature commemorative bricks to honor victims of terror attacks.
will revamp a planned to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and to display its acquisition of a recovered from the World Trade Center’s north tower.
“As scrap, it's worth about $400,” Moon Fire Marshaland Navy veteran Charles Belgie said Wednesday of the 900-pound pillar, which will be mounted and displayed between the at 100 Beaver Grade Road.
“But in this form, it’s priceless.”

On Wednesday night, Belgie told the Moon Board of Supervisors that the new park also will feature flowers, benches and bricks that may be purchased and dedicated to a victim who died in the 9/11 terror attacks.
The park also will include an irrigation system to combat recurring flooding. It will be rededicated at a ceremony on Sept. 11.
