Grand Jury Indicts Moon Resident for Visa Fraud

Tajikistan native married U.S. woman to obtain residency status, according to the indictment.

A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted a man who has been living in Moon, saying he attempted to remain in the United States by marrying a U.S. citizen, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Pittsburgh.

Mirzodzhon Mirzomatov, 26, of 318 Moon Clinton Road, is charged with one count of visa fraud, U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton said in a statement.  He is a native of Tajikistan.

According to the indictment, Mirzomatov married a U.S. citizen under fraudulent purposes in order to obtain permanent residency status but denied doing so in his application for residency.

If he is convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
