Arbitration set for today

Moon school officials and the Moon Area Education Association will take part in a non-binding hearing at the Moon Area School District Monday. 

Both the school and teacher's union will submit testimony to an undisclosed arbitrator, who will make a recommendation to resolve the contractual dispute that resulted teachers going on a 13-day strike in November.

The recommendation made the the arbitrator is, however, not final. Teachers in the school district have been working under the terms of a contract that expired in June. Come back to Moon.Patch.com for more coverage of the hearing. 

Moon Area High School Choral Concert rescheduled

The high school's annual Christmas choral concert was postponed last week due to inclement weather, but has been reschedule for 7 p.m. Monday in the high school auditorium. 

The eighth grade choral concert will take place at 6 p.m. at the middle school Tuesday. 

Snow plow protocol released to public

The township has released a guide to the township's snow plowing procedures. 

The guide outlines procedures for repairing mailboxes damaged by plows as well as the Public Works Department's standards for removing snow. 

Planning commission meets 

The Moon Township Public Zoning Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the Municipal building Tuesday. 

The Library Board of Trustees will also meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the . 

Schools break for Christmas

Students in the will kick off their holiday break on Friday. The holiday break was not affected by November's teacher strike.
