West Hills Task Force Nets a Dozen for DUI Charges

Officers with the West Hills DUI Task Force recently conducted a sobriety checkpoint that resulted in a dozen drunken-driving arrests in addition to other violations.

The May 24 checkpoint ran from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. on University Boulevard at Moon Clinton Road in Moon Township, according to police. 

During the operation: 

  • 414 cars passed though the checkpoint
  • 12 people were arrested for DUI
  • One person was arrested for drug-related charges
  • 13 people were cited for various traffic violations


Police from Moon, Robinson, North Fayette, Coraopolis, Crescent, Sewickley, Edgeworth, Findlay, Kennedy, Leetsdale, Ohio Township, Avalon and Bellevue took part in the operation.
