Update: Driver Contacts Police after Saturday's Hit-and-Run Crash

Moon Police say a man has reported to them that he thought he'd struck a deer Saturday night on Moon Clinton Road.

said they now have a lead in Saturday's hit-and-run crash that left a 17-year-old girl injured on Moon Clinton Road.

Police today said Clifford Dilley, 75, of Moon Township, reported to the at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday and said he thought he struck a deer the night before on Moon Clinton Road.

Officers immediately went to Dilley's home to investigate and examine his vehicle, which is a full-size Chevrolet pick-up truck.

The truck's damage, police say, is consistent with this pedestrian crash.

The police report states that Dilley has been cooperative throughout this investigation and agreed to submit blood samples at Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital for testing.

Moon Police seized Dilley's vehicle and have obtained a warrant to search and examine it for evidence. Police said they also have possession of the vehicle's onboard computer.

The Allegheny County Crime Lab will conduct forensic analysis and compare broken pieces found at the crash scene to pieces missing from the suspected vehicle.

The police report states that the investigation is ongoing. The victim, whose name has not been released, is being treated at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Her condition is unknown. 

No charges have been filed against Dilley.
