Two Car Break-Ins Reported at Bon Meade Elementary

Three vehicle break-ins have occurred in Moon this week.

said thieves broke into two cars yesterday while they were parked at Bon Meade Elementary School on Brodhead Road. 

The driver's-side windows of both vehicles were smashed and more than $350 in items were stolen, according to Moon Police. 

Police said the drivers, who are a father and daughter, parked the cars at 4:30 p.m. yesterday in the school's parking lot. When they returned an hour later, they discovered that their windows had been smashed and several items were missing from the cars.

Police said a blue Canon digital camera valued at $100 and a gym bag containing $130 in items were taken from a bronze 2000 Honda Civic. A wallet filled with cash, several credit cards and a Sprint cell phone valued at $150 were taken from the second vehicle, a 2007 black Honda Civic sedan.

Damage estimates for the vehicles also were not available. Police continue to investigate.

The front-passenger and rear-passenger windows of a 2006 blue Toyota Sienna van were broken and several credit cards were stolen Saturday at 1 p.m. while the vehicle was parked. Several similar thefts also were reported in Robinson on Saturday.
