Troopers Planning Citizen's Police Academy

The 11-week program, which will be held in Oakdale, will give citizens exposure to the world of police officers, including training and law enforcement practices and responsibilities.

The Pennsylvania State Police, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Technical Institute, will present a Citizen’s Police Academy in October.

The CPA is an 11-week program designed to expose selected Allegheny and Washington County citizens to the world of the police officer, the types of training officers receive, and general law enforcement concepts and responsibilities. It is a forum for understanding and communication between citizens and police officers.

The CPA will run from Oct. 11 through Dec. 20. Participants will meet from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Technical Institute, North Fayette Campus, 1111 McKee Road, in Oakdale.
