Township Property Vandalized with Spray Paint

Moon Police blotter for Tuesday, Sept. 20.

said multiple homes and township signs were vandalized with spray paint last weekend. 

Homeowners at more than a dozen residences at the 500 block of Wyndhurst, 40 block of Amherst, 100 block of Lang, 100 block of Chaplin and 200 block of Patton drives on Saturday reported spray paint damage to their homes or property. 

Residents said their mailboxes or fencing was marked in red spray paint. At least one vehicle on Wyndhurst Drive also was damaged. Multiple township-owned signs were covered in spray paint, police said in a report.

No damage estimate was available. 

Police also made these recent arrests in the township. Each incident reflects police records and is not an indication of guilt.

  • Steven A. Marshall, 37, of Pittsburgh was charged with four counts of receiving stolen property, four counts of retail theft and two counts of possession of a controlled substance at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15. Police said Marshall stole $526-worth of items from Moon Plaza, including tanning lotion and a $139 curling iron from , cleaning items from the and more than a dozen Blue Ray discs. He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail after the incident. 
  • Joseph Michael Boward, 23, of Moon was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 3 a.m. Sept. 10 on Brodhead Road. 
  • Darnel R. Johnson, 29, of Moon was charged with simple assault Sept. 17 on Santa Anna Drive. The time of the arrest was unavailable.
