Robinson Police Find Teen Missing After Wrestling Match

The teen was found late Thursday night after an hours-long search along Clever Road.

After searching for several hours Thursday night, Robinson Township Police located a 13-year-old boy who went missing on a hillside outside Montour High School. 

The boy went missing before 8 p.m. after taking part in a wrestling match at the high school. He turned up around 11 p.m. and was sent to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital to be evaluated. 

Police Chief Dale Vietmeier said the boy is a special-needs student who attends Mars Area School District. He ran away after a dispute with his parent following the wrestling match.

Police used a dog to track his scent through the wooded area outside the high school and in the Clever Road area. 

"The dog tracked him for a long way, and couldn't find him," Vietmeier said. "He traveled quite a distance."

Vietmeier said said the boy turned up at about 11 and was "distraught and cold." He was not injured in the incident.
