Report: Woman's Diamond Rings Go Missing From Moon Hotel Room

A Tennessee woman reported two diamond rings missing over the weekend from her hotel room in Moon.

According to Moon police, Elizabeth Gibbs, 60, of Franklin, TN and her husband went to the police station Monday to report two diamond rings missing from their hotel room at the Doubletree Hotel on University Boulevard.

Police said the couple were at the hotel for a wedding when Gibbs placed her two rings into a ring box and put the box on the table next to the television.

The couple checked out on Sunday and was driving when Gibbs asked her husband where her two rings were. Police said he thought she'd taken the rings prior to leaving the hotel.

After realizing the rings were missing, police said the couple checked all of their bags but couldn't find them. Police said the couple contacted the hotel and spoke with an employee who checked the lost and found, but didn't locate the rings.

The couple was told that the person who cleaned their room wasn't at work. Police planned to stop back to speak to the housekeeper.

Police described the diamond cluster ring as having 12 diamonds shaped into a square and three diamonds on either side of the band, and is worth $6,000.  The diamond anniversary ring had five diamonds across a gold band is worth $2,500.
