Police: Woman Steals 17 Penguins Jerseys from Robinson Mall

A woman attempted to walk out of JC Penney with more than a dozen hockey jerseys.

Robinson Township Police said a woman attempted to steal Pittsburgh Penguins game jerseys worth more than $2,200 from the Mall at Robinson.

Roberta Obenauer, 41, of Pittsburgh, was charged with retail theft of more than $200 on March 17 following an attempted theft at the JC Penney department store.

Police said loss prevention officers at the store saw Obenauer walking out of the store with 17 Penguins game jerseys, valued at $2,210, according to a criminal complaint.

Obenauer, who has been convicted of retail theft four times, was taken to the Allegheny County Jail following the incident.
