Police Seek Information Related to Body Found in Ohio River

The body of Steven P. Zambory, 34, of Aliquippa, was found in the Ohio River Sunday near Interstate 79 in Glenfield Borough.

Pennsylvania State Police are seeking from the public any information related to the death of an Aliquippa man whose body was pulled Sunday from the Ohio River near Glenfield Borough.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy Monday on Steven Zambory, 34, who police said is from Aliquippa, but who also had a Pittsburgh mailing address. A spokeswoman at the medical examier's said the cause of Zambory's death is pending.

State Police Trooper Robin Mungo said anyone with information regarding this should contact the State Police at 412-787-2000.

State police were called at about 1:50 p.m. when two fishermen discovered the body floating under the Interstate 79 bridge to Neville Island. Glenfield Borough does not have a police department; the state police serve the area.

Emsworth Volunteer Fire Co. used its equipment to pull the body to shore near the property of Schirnhofer Welding & Fabricating. The state police forensic services unit took photos of the body for its investigation, police said.

 Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, Emsworth Volunteer Fire Co. and state police were assisted by Ohio Township Police and the Valley Ambulance Authority.

Mungo said no additional information was available.
