Police Looking for Witnesses in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Motorcyclist Gerald Rombach died Friday after colliding with an SUV.

are asking anyone who witnessed the fatal crash between a motorcyclist and a small SUV last week on Freedom Road to call police. 

collided with a Honda CRV at about 2:30 p.m. Friday at the entrance to the lower Cranberry Mall near the JoAnn Fabrics store.

The impact caused Rombach to become trapped under the vehicle. He was conscious and talking when emergency responders arrived on the scene three minutes later, police said.

He was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, where was pronounced dead at 5:17 p.m. Police said Rombach was wearing a helmet.

The driver of Honda CRV, Marie Howland, of Freedom, was not injured. She was attempting turn left from Freedom Road into the mall at the time of the collision, police said.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. They have not said if charges will be filed in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Cranberry Police at 724-776-5180, ext. 5.

I'm having trouble deciphering/accessing complete posts above. I have not been able to follow theRead More Boards meetings since relocating a year ago to TN. The fact that it took them til 3 am to ok WalMart's plans for the space, makes me think it was contentious, as it should have been. Many of us with experience of WalMart and the existing problems with traffic in the area remain appalled to hear WalMart's moving ahead.
